3 franchises that have similar kit design as PKL teams

IPL 2022 will kick off next Saturday with a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. All 10 franchises have unveiled their kits for the new IPL season.

All eyes were on the Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants kits as both franchises will be making their IPL 2022 debuts. Interestingly, both teams opted for bluish shades in their shirt colors. While Lucknow has light blue as their main shirt colour, Gujarat has a much darker shade.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore have added a splash of gradient to their shirt, which looks a bit like Big Bash League side Melbourne Renegades. Even Sunrisers Hyderabad’s new shirt looks like BBL’s Perth Scorchers.

Many sports fans would have noticed that the new kits from a few IPL franchises also have a similar touch to some Pro Kabaddi League teams. We are looking at the three IPL 2022 kits having a little similarity with the PKL teams.

Lucknow Super Giants IPL 2022 kit is similar to Bengal Warriors

Lucknow Super Giants have yet to make a special jersey video or post on social media. However, their jersey has already been leaked online during the filming of a promotional video. Additionally, team captain KL Rahul donned the same jersey during a promotional clip for host broadcasters ahead of IPL 2022.

Fans had mixed reactions to Lucknow’s shirt. It resembles the PKL Bengal Warriors team which also wears blue and orange colors. The Kolkata-based Pro Kabaddi League franchise wore a darker shade this year, but in some games they also sported a light blue jersey.

The Warriors won the Pro Kabaddi League in 2019. It will be interesting to see how Lucknow fares in similar kit colours.

Chennai Super Kings Training Kit #2 is similar to Tamil Thalaivas

The Official Chennai Super Kings Shirt for IPL 2022 is the most unique kit a fan will see in any sports league. They have a predominantly yellow jersey with a blue touch on the side. It also has the team logo in the lower half of the shirt and is dark green around the shoulders.

CSK’s training kit for this season resembles that of Chennai-based PKL franchise Tamil Thalaivas.

Both have a yellow and blue combo, with the only difference being that CSK’s training kit has a gradient touch while Thalaivas’ kit has clear trims.

#3 Delhi Capitals new shirt looks like Dabang Delhi KC

The Delhi Capitals wore a predominantly blue kit for the past three IPL seasons. However, this year they have introduced a blue and red color kit. DC’s kit has the same colors as PKL’s Dabang Delhi KC team based in Delhi.

Dabang Delhi KC won its first Pro Kabaddi League Championship thanks to the brilliance of youngster Naveen Kumar earlier this year. It will be interesting to see if Rishabh Pant can lead the Delhi Capitals to their maiden title in the same way.

Q. Will DC win IPL 2022?
