The star cast plays a key role in making or breaking the film. When talking about a franchise, you always want to see the same actor playing the same character throughout. However, there have been instances where our favorite franchise has had to fire its beloved stars from upcoming sequels.
Leaving a dispute for controversial statement revolting the general public, the list of reasons is really long. However, to help you get answers to every one of your “what, why was this star fired”, we’ve brought a list of a few actors who were fired from their roles due to some really shitty stuff they did. they said or did.
Gina Carano– The Mandalorian
Carano was told not to return to the Lucasfilm and Disney show, and plans were scrapped for her character to have her own show due to the Instagram post she shared on February 10, 2021. The post read – “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…. even by children. Because the story is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first pushed their own neighbors to simply hate them because they were Jews. “How is it different from hating someone for their political views?” She later deleted the post, but not before it was captured and reposted on numerous social media sites, with the hashtag #FireGinaCarano trending on Twitter.
Alec Baldwin – Patriot Games
Due to a feud between Baldwin and Paramount Pictures studio head David Kirkpatrick, Alec Baldwin was replaced from his role as Jack Ryan in the 1992 Patriot Games. Baldwin alleges that Paramount executive David Kirkpatrick, pushed him to choose between starring in the sequel and playing A Streetcar Named Desire on Broadway, while Kirkpatrick argues that Baldwin’s insistence on permission for the script resulted in his dismissal from the sequel.
Edward Norton – The Incredible Hulk
Despite deals for sequels and a crossover with The Avengers, producer Kevin Feige decided against bringing Norton back, with a statement citing “the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.” Although Norton claims to have contributed enough to the writing to get credit, it was never given. However, it’s hard to get a straight answer when you ask Norton why he left the franchise. It gives the impression that sometimes it’s just bad art direction. He intended to take the character in one direction, but Marvel wanted to take him in the opposite direction.
Louis CK – The Secret Life of Pets
The studios behind the family franchise – Universal Pictures and Illumination, severed relations with CK after numerous allegations of sexual misconduct against him. Additionally, after Louis admitted to masturbating in front of numerous female colleagues, FX terminated their contract with him and his production company, adding, “Now is not the time for him to do TV shows. Now is the time for him to speak honestly to the women who have come forward to talk about their painful experiences.
Megan Fox – Transformers
Fox has never been shy about criticizing Michael Bay’s cinematic approach, even comparing him to Napoleon and describing him as “a nightmare to work for”. Fox went even further in the same interview with the magazine, saying, “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is.” As a result, Fox’s character Mikaela Banes was secretly written out and replaced with Carly Spencer, played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, as Sam’s new love interest.
