AirAsia Super App will soon launch its transportation and food delivery services in Manila, Capital A (formerly AirAsia Group) chief executive Tony Fernandes said during the weekend media courtesy visit to its headquarters of Red Q in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
While he is due to travel to the Philippines next month, the two new ventures will likely launch before the end of 2022, Super App Philippines executives noted.
Already, the company obtains a franchise from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for its ride-sharing service.
It is also in discussion with local partner merchants for its meal delivery activity.
Airasia Super App was officially launched in the Philippines last April and also operates in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.
Anchored by an integrated rewards program and mobile wallet, the platform
offers flight and hotel reservations, e-commerce, food and package delivery, carpooling, financial and health services, on-demand education, among others.
Last August, carpooling platform, airasia ride, was launched in Malaysia as part of Capital A’s digital transformation journey.
Currently, it has expanded its operations to 10 cities across Malaysia in eight months.
Airasia ride will also be launched in Thailand and Indonesia in 2022.
