The NBA is one of the biggest sports leagues in the world. Millions of fans around the world enjoy watching their favorite athletes play basketball. Of course, that means NBA franchises have a lot of fans around the world.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that all teams in the league are equally popular. Some teams in a large market have a huge fan base compared to small market teams.
It is also directly tied to the select few franchises which also generate a lot of revenue for the league. This means that these are the only organizations considered valuable by the league.
NBA analyst thinks Phoenix Suns can join list of league’s most valuable franchises
In recent days, the Phoenix Suns have been in the news, but not for a good reason. Franchise owner Robert Sarver is forced to sell the franchise. This is the sequel to the workplace misconduct he was involved in during his tenure as team owner.
Based on that, famed NBA analyst Bill Simmons believes the Suns are ready to join an incredibly exclusive list of the league’s most valuable NBA franchises.
Going through basketball network:
”There are only 8 truly amazing NBA franchises to own. Lakers, Knicks, Warriors, Bulls, Celtics, Mavericks. I would dump the Heat because of the organization they’ve built, the location, the fact that they’ve always been able to get good players and there’s just a ton of money to South Beach. It is seven, and the Suns are the eight. What’s interesting in that? The Suns are the only ones who will be available on those eight.
Phoenix is the Mecca of the wealthy. Amazing fans, you have quite a story, you put Devin Booker in place. But the big deal – it’s an hour from LA and an hour from the Bay Area. You can attract all the rich guys from those two places and they can steal and own the team.”
Simmons thinks the Suns’ biggest attraction is the fact that everyone in LA and the Bay Area can easily get there.
On top of that, the Suns currently have a star player on the roster in Devin Booker. Alongside him, the Suns also have Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton. So anyone who buys the Suns will essentially be getting a championship contender from the start.
