KFC sees strong Mindanao expansion via franchise

KFC Philippines sees strong potential for expansion in Mindanao as investors in the region begin to appreciate the opportunities presented by KFC’s innovative and hassle-free sub-franchise program.

Proof of this is the opening of the KFC branch on Quezon Avenue, Cotabato City, Maguindanao – the first sub-franchised outlet of the quick-service restaurant in Mindanao – through Seven Jewels Corp.

Seven Jewels Corp. aims to expand the KFC brand in the Soccsksargen region and other areas of opportunity in Mindanao.

“It only shows that local investors have a strong trust in the brand, equal to the faith given by the company that it can grow in the region with its economic growth,” said Yvette Roldan, chief management officer of the KFC franchise.

KFC Philippines, through its sub-franchisees, is targeting at least 20 new stores this year, typically in the Visayas and Mindanao, where the brand’s popularity, especially its finger-licking good chicken dishes , begins to increase dramatically.

“We not only aim to expand brand visibility, but also provide employment opportunities within these communities with their own KFC store,” Roldan said.

Sub-franchise store staff will be well equipped with all the necessary tools and proper training to ensure that the quality of service is aligned with all branches.

“We ensure that our high quality food service and the 11 world famous secret herbs and spices will be at the same level in all our stores. Interested entrepreneurs who own property for a potential KFC franchise can send details to KFC Franchising or visit https://corporate.kfc.com.ph/franchising,“said Rollan.

The investment starts at 19 million pesos, which already includes the construction of the store, all the equipment and the initial costs.

She said everything will be provided to sub-franchisees, including “pre-opening marketing support, management and human resource capabilities.”

Over the past two years amid the pandemic, KFC has still managed to strengthen its franchise push, with the opening of new stores in Capas, Tarlac; Candelaria, Quezon; Malolos and Bocaue, Bulacan; Antique; Angono, Rizal; and this newest one in Cotabato City.
